During the current restricted period the Probate Office remains open for the lodgement of all applications. In particular caveats can be filed by either posting them into the office,dropping them into the Dropbox, which is located in the reception area of Phoenix House Smithfield Dublin 7, or using the DX system. The Probate Office like all public service offices has had to impose restrictions on dealing face to face with our customers. However all other methods of communication have been and remain available at all times . It has been possible to lodge a caveat at all times during this restricted period.
Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration are not issuing at present due to the current restrictions on movement and the requirement for isolation amongst staff members. The Probate Office will resume the process of issuing Grants and Letters of Administration from Thursday the 16th April. All caveats which might effect the issue of a Grant or Letters of Administration should be filed before close of business next Tuesday the 14th April if they are to be effect the issue of any Grants which will issue from next Thursday the 16th April.
From next Tuesday the 14th April and until such time as the Courts Service Stamp Office resumes a full service all applications will be accepted with payment being made by cheque.
Cash payment of the fee will be accepted from unrepresented applicants for caveats only.
